How many time have I told myself this in the past? I am too busy. Concentration levels are high the task that I am dealing with requires it. I drop that half-finished task and deal with crisis’s as they develop. The ambulance at the bottom of the cliff, the firefighter! Days turn into a week and weeks turn into months! Then all of a sudden I am sick. My body shuts me down for an enforced rest. I soldier on and the sickness gets worse!
Stop!
My mind body and soul are out of balance! My mind took over going on to autopilot. My nutrition suffered as the mind wanted caffeine, sugar and fast food for that instant hit! My mind was at a million miles an hour! The body responded by shutting down the mind with sickness! The soul looked on forlorn as mind and body were ignoring it!
The Fix
Meditation slowing down the mind, stopping that monkey mind on autopilot being in charge. Slowly breathing in breathing out letting go of what was past and letting thoughts that come into the mind wash away. Breath in breath out slowing that pace down. Reclaiming the power of my inner self.
Yoga slowly doing the asanas opening the energy points releasing the tensions. Following that vinyasa flow dealing with the issues as they come up.
Nutrition is required dealing with the deficiencies of my diet. More Vit C and D magnesium for the heart and B group vitamins for the mind. Less processed food green tea instead of caffeine. Cultivation of bliss!
The meditation cultivates feelings of well being the soul has joined the family with the mind and body, back in balance!
Calmness at work develops, no more firefights, just serenity!
When I started in business I met with prospective and new clients got to know them and collectively we decided to collaborate with each other. This is a lot of trust in my core business which I pride with honesty. I shake the guy’s hand or hugged the lady and our collaboration was sealed. I knew their business and they knew mine. These days of the 21st century I am increasing not seeing the clients and have developed means of getting that handshake. I ask a lot more questions not because I am noisy but because I need to know my customer in the terms of legislation as well as peace of mind. I have secure portals for documents and records, electronic signatures, identity standards as well as 2-factor identification available. This creates problems initially for clients in two areas:
The cost… All of this costs they see me ramping up fees just to make more money this breeds contempt
Knowledge gaps The client has a mindset block to adopting these technologies and pushes back against change
The Cost
AS the transition to a hybrid cloud server business in conjunction with my collaboration with Microsoft, MYOB, and local IT at Work allows me offsite back up as well as up to date software for secure communication and storage. Multiple backups and redundancy allow me to offer the services of my competitors while still being in business. Without it the tech back office I would not be able to operate with the constant change. This comes at a cost. I have to let go of clients who do not see this as necessary as it is now the way to do business.
Knowledge Gaps
I am a patient guy who has coached thousands of people over the years. In 99.9% of the cases, there is a solution to there training. Initial blocks are related to their mindset. The clients I have found don’t like change. Change management is slowly giving them the right information at the right time. I have to be aware that some do not take in lots of information The client has a cycle of learning and it may take in a couple of years to get them there but eventually I do. I try and standardize the training however it is not unknown for me to bespoke solutions.
Above my screen in my office is a framed statement:
Just for Today, I will
Not Worry
Not be angry
Do my work honestly
Give thanks for my many blessings
Be kind to every living thing
When dealing with people I recognize them as people. While the hugs and handshakes sometimes aren’t there enough these days I still appreciate my clients exactly the same way there were when I first collaborated with them. That hasn’t changed only the delivery.
As I develop the business advisory services of Anywhere Business Network Ltd I am carrying thru the traditions of The Tax Man Limited. I truly believe that the digital skills that are on offer thru the collaborative partners that the new company has will make businesses shine in the 21st century.
Controlling the yang and keeping it in check is important! Having balance in my daily life is a must.
I see many driven people come into my life they show aggressiveness in the pursuit of their goals. Their goal is their chief motivation however in that pursuit they manifest health and relationship issues. The goal blanks out each day as they move forward. When the goal has reached the feeling is a bit like an anti-climax.
Definition of yang
the masculine active principle in nature that in Chinese cosmology is exhibited in light, heat, or dryness and that combines with yin to produce all that comes to be
To take it further ego tends to drive Yang. It is something of the mind. When ego takes over the mind goes out of balance with the body and soul. Feelings and emotions are parked.
The body being full of energy is just as important as the mind. Yin while being in constant contact with the mind tends to manifest its self in feelings.
Definition of yin
The feminine passive principle in nature that in Chinese cosmology is exhibited in darkness, cold, or wetness and that combines with yang to produce all that comes to be
As you can see being driven my Yin could be described as being left in a cold wet mess!
The importance of what I am saying here is to remain in balance give equal balance to the mind and body. Allow joy and happiness to you in your day and the positive feelings of well being by exercise and good nutrition. Listen and act with relationships. Set time aside to appreciate your surroundings. Laugh smile and cry. By all means, pursue goals but enjoy the journey!
The cement of Yin and Yang is the soul. Being in touch with your inner being/ higher power is a good start to balance. It is all about mindset!
Peace now and always is a better state of mind! Fear is a state of mind. Looking back the external stimuli dictated my reactions for what seemed an eternity.
Growing Up
As a child of the 60’s and 70’s at the forefront of my mind from the media was the cold war. The nightly images from Vietnam were chilling and perverse as anything on the internet today. The movies of the day carried thru these themes and as a child in Wellington, I would always go to the flicks on a Saturday afternoon matinee to see the latest blockbuster. The Spy thrillers with the suspense they carried always intrigued me! The images of the spy drop at Checkpoint Charlie with the slow walk, the nod of acknowledgment of spies, as they walked past each other made me sit on the edge of my seat.
The cold wall was still in still going when I joined the NZ Army in 1986. We learned of soviet doctrine the makeup of opposing sections, platoon’s, companies and battalions there weapons and tactics. Then one day it was over or so we all thought!
Work
While working at Inland Revenue I investigated people and learned to understand their makeup, what to expect, there habits and routines. All with the objective of ensuing they had returned the right amount of income.
When I went out on my own in 1997 I wanted to specialise in forensic accounting but alas it did not take me long to realise that the market that I had to project myself into was too small. Instead, I concentrated on small and microbusinesses. I also started to realise with the conversations I had with people how much the hated the Government and the way it operated in the tax field with its passive aggressive use of fear! I had to be very careful that as the messenger I was not tainted by this!
4 or 5 times a year I would have different people coming into my office with the same problem in that they had never furnished anything thing to Inland Revenue and wanted to put it right! Yup the spies were coming in from the cold. Huge amounts of work would be done, and the information passed via tax returns to Inland Revenue. I did a lot of reconstruction involved and developing systems was done to achieve the results. The client kept out of jail, I made some money and the revenues insatiable lust for money was satisfied.
The Mind
I soon found that something in my makeup always wanted that edge that next big moment of suspense. I had to start dealing with it as I knew that you can’t live on the edge. I started yoga and meditation as well as developing digital systems to assist me to produce financial statements quickly and efficiently as well as communicate with clients no matter where they were. I also took up Toastmasters to improve the quality of that communication. All of this was to reduce the risk of miscommunication as well as the stress of not getting it right.
Awareness
I started to see the person behind the client and be more self-aware, because of the changes I had made to myself. I saw their stress, a few suicides, a few busted marriages, the anguish, and sometimes relief as their fears were allayed. I do a lot of sign posting to assist people to get their options right. Fear can mean two things F@@k everything and Run or Face everything and rise. I try to coach people into rising always looking for the positive rather than the cynical darkness they see in the Government. I found that people coming to see me just wanted peace. I found it was a matter of there own perception in that peace begins with themselves and while possessions might have to be sold to pay to the government that in the end, if they have food warmth shelter and love they will have peace.
Leadership is instilling the belief in someone that they can do it. It is not about taking control and dictating to people what they shouldn’t do. We are all big enough to make up our own minds, and a good leader is supportive of your needs and offers empathy, listening skills, and opinion when asked. A good leader encourages your self-confidence and goes thru your choices of action towards your journey. A good leader does not offer threats, intimidation or ridicule. A good leader uses right speech to motivate and steer on your chosen path. Take yoga for example. A good leader will allow you to focus on what you want. There are no comparisons as it is just you and the yoga. The changes you make to your daily practice are based on your incremental improvement and the leader leads by example.
In the end, it boils down to being supportive, being trusted as well as being honest!
It is the same in business. You seek mentors to support you. They don’t take over they over advise. The offer leadership and are supportive. They don’t ridicule but offer alternatives to your course of action. They add value to your decisions. That is why I have mentors and it is especially important to me as those mentors are also teachers and coaches for me in that big digital world. In another blog, I have discussed this and if you are reading our blog for the first time you might want to look up that link.
My growth by listening to leaders has been outstanding. My collaborators are also leaders, my peers are also leaders and my friends are also leaders. You just have to pick up on those traits of leadership too!
I have concluded that I lead too just by writing these blogs!
Yoga Journey Over the past 4 years, I have been slowly developing my Yoga practice. Being 56 I am not over the hill and yoga has given me a new lease on life. My objective has been to assist with reducing daily/life stress levels and increase my wellbeing. The mindset and the collaboration with my yoga teachers and fellow students have helped me in developing my mind body and soul balance as a person. I have attended sessions with different teachers and styles and appreciated the techniques learned. In my practice I have come to acknowledge that my connection with the perfect yoga session is as follows:
Phase 1 the Yoga Nidra
At workshops, I have to acknowledge Nikki Fitzgerald and Ruth Cole (Scientist Nelson) for explaining the nature of Yoga Nidra and leading me thru a 1.5 hour guided practice. It allowed me to fully appreciate the meditative state that this phase can bring. The reality is a 1-hour session is that this phase can only exist for a 5 minute period. I have to acknowledge Layla Dowthwaite (HR consultant Greymouth) as being highly skilled at getting the meditative state of the Nidra in a short time. Explanation of the breathing technique is great. This phase is also assisted by the chant of Om the tying in of oneness with the group and Dr. Jamie Mosher (Surgeon Greymouth) is particularly skilled at leading this. Setting the intention during this phase is a powerful aspect! This part of my Yoga Journey is important!
Phase 2 The Vinyasa Flow
The King if the flow has to be acknowledged as Chai Deva at Evolve Studio in Nelson as well as managing the Evolve festival he does a wicked Vinyasa flow. I have to also acknowledge his staff Kelly Gill-Brydon as equally skilled. The flow has to flow! On a local front, Hot Flow Yoga in Wellington and Christchurch are good with this too! A special mention of the use of modern and classical asanas in the flow has to go to Hannah Green of Wild Peace Wellness Centre in Westport. Locally Naomi Robbins, Layla Dowthwaite, Jamie Mosher all have great technique with a variance of asanas dependent on who is in the class!
Phase 3 The Pinnacle
Yeah, I know no one calls it that… that’s the part with the balance pose or the core strength pose…. One of my teachers does this all thru out his class! I like the idea of the achievable not so much human origami but something simple graceful and restorative as well as being challenging!3
Phase 4 the Warm Down
Slowly going down all the muscle groups with the final stretches is a must with this old fella. All have their own technique and this does not need to be overlooked or rushed.
Phase 5 Shavasana
Although it looks easy, Savasana (Corpse Pose) has been called the most difficult of the asanas. Indeed, many yoga students who can happily balance, bend, and twist through the rest of class struggle with just lying on the floor. The reason is that the art of relaxation is harder than it looks. It doesn’t happen on demand: You can’t just say, “OK, I’m going to relax, right now! That’s why Savasana is such a gift. The pose sets up the conditions that allow you to gradually enter a truly relaxed state, one that is deeply refreshing in itself and that also can serve as a starting point for meditation. The other night Hannah Green slowly pushed down on my shoulders and quietly massaged my forehead. Kelly Gill-Brydon placed a scented bean bag over my eyes. Naomi Robbins massaged my shoulders. Maya, Jamie Moshers’ daughter massaged the shoulders and talked of clouds. I am not too macho to say that these acts of kindness bring tears to my eyes and I am grateful and certainly are some of the most restorative acts in Yoga.
Phase 6 The Final Meditation
This brings it all together on my Yoga Journey and for my reviews what I have achieved in my restorative practice. It also makes me feel at one with the group on certain occasions. Particular techniques are the sealing of the intent in phase 1 and chants such as the 3 oms and mantra chants bringing me back to the peace of the world such as Shanti Shanti Shanti.
I have had some extra fun sessions with Yoga. Two which stand out are:
Gemma leads the class in a graceful vinyasa flow while her partner Paul plays his guitar singing. The flow perfectly matches the melodies and sound. Just the love that they have for each other that flows from the class is worth the experience!
Human Mandala Yoga Jo leads the class in a circle all supported with each other this leads to reinforcement of trust and ability. You have to experience it!
It is not surprising given Yogas benefits that the teachers above are very intelligent and talented. My fellow students have come from all walks of life and reflect the practice of yoga bestowed by these leaders.
The last 48 hours have been a whirlwind. The day before yesterday I set out to complete at least two sets of financial statements and there associated tax returns and deliver them to the clients as well as make sure I was available to an old soldier to drive him to various ANZAC day activities around Greymouth and district. Earlier this month I lost a filling in a tooth and made an appointment to see a dentist. The booking clerk said that I the first emergency appointment was the 3rd of may and being the 10th of April and knowing that they are busy souls I accepted this. So my tasks set started the financial statements. And the pain from the tooth was getting worse.
I finished the statements and then took the dog with me for a ride to Westport to drop off the accounts and get some signatures of the tax returns. The first client I dropped the accounts off at is suffering from cancer and while working still does so around chemotherapy. I got the signatures and spend a little time afterwards saying to myself how thankful I was to be as I was and reflected on his steadfast resolve. I picked up a hitchhiker she told me the bus had left her with a 3 kilometre walk to the hostel and her pack was twice her size I dropped her at the hostel door. She patted my dog… my dog was pleased. I reflected that a dogs are happy souls who don’t need much. While travelling up the Coast Rd I decided to call in on a hermit client who Inland Revenue is getting upset with for not filing returns. The hermit has a simple life. He is a vegetarian who exists on mung beans who recycles his tea leaves by drying them out to reuse again. He lives in an old caravan with a canvas cover over it to stop the leaks. He always greets me with a smile and is one of the kindest souls I know. He wasn’t there and as I left his property I marvelled to myself about how you can live simply in live and reflected on his humility. I stopped often on the trip to let my little dog out of the car to have a run around. The dog showed the loyalty of always obeying me when asked to get back to the car rather than disappear into the bush. I reflected on the Dogs loyalty and its trust that it placed in me.
Westport
I then proceed to the next client to drop off the accounts in Westport. I talked with a client about life and business and plans for the future direction and we both noticed the tooth, the client seeing swelling and me with the pain. I reflected on this clients calmness and friendliness. While in Westport I took the opportunity to take in a yoga class. I arrived early at the class and asked if I could meditate early there. The instructor said yes. The bright and clean premises are a credit to Westport and represent the attitude of the proprietors to business. I reflected on their tenacity.
I then drove back to Greymouth stopping to let my loyal Dog out for a runaround. On one of the stops in a deserted car park, I woman was trying to get into her sleeper van as she had locked the keys in. I quietly opened her van door with skills learned from another life. She was thankful. I reflected on her courage as she still had a smile on her face despite her anguish.
I arrived home with tooth paid steadily getting worse. I got out my suit medals and shoes for ANZAC day and my partner gave me one of her codeine and I went to sleep. At just after midnight I got up with a massive sweat, I proceeded to the porch to cool down and collapsed in massive paid and about 5 minutes later I was able to get up…. My brunch coat was saturated, I include to go to the Doctor the next day once my obligations were completed.
Dawn
I got up at 4.00am early the swelling was greater. I went and fuelled up at 5.00am and then went to pick up my passenger for the day. The veteran I picked up was 80 and served two tours in Vietnam. Affected by injuries and lung infections with agent orange he is grateful that I make sure he can attend the ANZAC day events each year.
Respect
I attended dawn parade and while others commenced a day of talk rum and beer chasers I drunk my coffee. My passenger gave up alcohol 20 years ago… he consumed a couple of lifetimes of alcohol drinking a 40 oz of rum after each military operations he was on so did not need anymore! After dawn parade at the cenotaph, we had breakfast at the RSA and then when to the servicemen plot at the cemetery.
Everyone is Important
I took the opportunity to visit my fathers grave he died 16th October 1986 at the age of 52. I miss his countenance. My passenger visited his father’s grave as well. We then went to Greymouth Hospitals service. This was lead by an ex ARMY nurse and the guest speaker was a Quaker nurse who served in Vietnam by looking after refugees. The service is held in front of a memorial to one of the 3 Greymouth nurses who died in World War one when their ship was torpedoed in the Aegean sea off Gallipoli.
We then went to Blackball I tried to get my passenger as close as possible to the service but he still marched. We then went back to the workingman’s club where I met a number of clients and saw a friend with her new partner. She explained me to her partner as her guardian angel and I told her new partner that if he ever touched her with violence that I would seek him out. I thought to myself that the least this woman can have and deserve is no more violence in her relationships. I then took the passenger home and proceeded to the Hospital to get some medical attention. After an hour waiting they gave me some antibiotics as well painkillers and suggested to me that I call on the Dentist and ask if my emergency appointment can be brought forward as the Doctor in the hospital thought it would be a good idea.
Finally, I came home had a nap and then had a snack. The meds were doing their work and after watching the News on TV went to Yoga again in Greymouth and this put me in a much better position to sleep. I forgot to mention while I was out and about I picked up two new clients.
Collaboration with another takes trust. It is a meeting of minds clear about boundaries yet at the same time understanding of the back stories which shape our daily lives. The deepest of understandings get’s the greatest results in that there is equality in the effort towards a common objective. There is little hidden as ego has been parked and that deep understanding allows one or other to concentrate on the other things that life has. The business goal is secondary to the feelings of joy and happiness that are self-evident to a fulfilling life. While there are deadlines there is inherent flexibility that goes with the deep understanding. While contributions are not always forthcoming the thinking and strategies take time to hone and tune as the business develops and then fine tunes it’s self into a well-oiled machine.
Patience perseverance and persistence are the mantras of the collaborative effort. In the end, it is quality over quantity with the underlying principle of excellence of effort. There is no need for constant praise as the understanding is enduring and has risen above that need. “I hope” is replaced with “We know”. Success is measured in feelings and results naturally occur.
An awakening to the possibilities has happened and abundance of feeling alive. That is what collaboration can be!
8 Reasons Why You Should Join the Six Figure Mentors
1. It`s your chance to escape the 9 to 5, live anywhere, and join the new rich.
Not many people dream of working long hours in a job or business with limited potential, yet so many of us are. I know I have! You get up to an annoying alarm clock, you get stuck in traffic on the way to a job you don`t want to do, where you`ll take orders from a boss or a client you probably don`t like, knowing that you`ll get paid a wage that is limited no matter how hard you work. The number one thing this course and system gave me is not the money, but the opportunity of living a life of freedom. A life that is no longer about living paycheck to paycheck, or about wishing for things that I cannot provide my family with. This is an opportunity that truly gives me the freedom to work anywhere and do anything I want, whenever I want.
The Six Figure Mentors (The SFM), is a real opportunity to work online and live life the way you want to.
2. Anyone can do it. Communities Online are there 24/7
My biggest concern when I was considering joining The Six Figure Mentors was that I wouldn`t be good enough. What if I wasn`t smart enough to make it work? What if I didn`t have the technical know-how? I honestly had no idea about eCommerce, Internet marketing, website creation, you name it. It looked like a golden opportunity but I thought it was out of my reach. In the end, it was probably the hope of a better life that drove me to get started and let me tell you, I have absolutely no regrets!
The business system Stuart and Jay have created is so simple it`s ridiculous. In the video tutorials and the live training they practically hold your hand and show you step-by-step, in plain English, how to do everything they do. No existing expertise required. All you need is the will and determination to make it work.
3. You can choose your income level.
The best thing about the system is that it`s scalable, which means you can repeat it over and over until you`ve achieved any level of income you want. The amount of money you can make is only limited by your own effort and investment. This is why when people ask me how much money you can make with these methods, I tell them to pick a number. The sky is the limit.
4. The SFM Exclusive Private Community.
“I love coming here every day and participating in The SFM community.”
Ever felt frustrated, lost, or overwhelmed when starting something totally new and on your own before? There is a specific reason for this… you probably had nobody to turn to when you were stuck. You will never have this feeling as a member of The SFM. The owners themselves (Stuart Ross & Jay Kubassek) and SFM`s leadership team are available for support, which is awesome, however, that is not even the best part. Here, you have the ability to connect and communicate with 100`s of other aspiring and successful SFM members.
Yes, that is right. You can communicate directly with people that are having the same problems as you; people who have solved these problems already and want to help, along with many very successful online marketers, some of which make multiple six figures every year. That mentorship alone is worth 10 times the price of admission in my opinion! Communities online work!
Live members – chat with people who share your goals and ambitions. It`s priceless!
Private Members Forum – Real help when you need it!
This is great, and you`ll find it`s pivotal to your success. I wasn`t expecting too much in the way of support when I started out (after all, you can only experience the support once you`ve handed over your money). The truth is, the community offers great support and I love the fact I get to interact with other like-minded members. You can literally ask the simplest of questions and get back a comprehensive, well-thought-out response that you can tell other members have taken the time to put some serious thought behind. Rarely will you get a generic or rushed response. Communities online work!
5. Tiny initial investment.
This business model has ridiculously small start-up costs. Most ordinary businesses or franchises with this kind of income potential take hundreds of thousands of dollars/pounds to start and require huge loans. What will your start-up cost be with The Six Figure Mentors? It costs $29.95 to submit your application. Then starting with Module 1, you can test out the system, get on the phone with a coach and have all your questions answered. Then for the full business system, which is optional, it`s just a $297 one-time fee and $97 per month thereafter (no contracts or minimum term). That`s right folks, $297 to start something that has the potential replace your full-time income!
6. The Training Works!
With hundreds of training tutorials, videos, and downloadable guides (and growing every day), The SFM offers online business training like no other platform. If you are an absolute beginner or if you are an expert looking to expand your knowledge base and network, their robust training will help you take your business to the next level.
There are various training categories within The SFM. These include topics such as:
• Getting Started Fast

• WordPress
Each category contains its own set of specific resources which walk you through the entire process. If you are an absolute newbie, this will get you up and be running very quickly.
It was actually the blogging module within The SFM that enabled me to start this very blog – putting to work what I learned, straight away!
One thing that I think is really cool is how there are many experts who contribute regularly to The SFM by adding new videos, tutorials, and posts for other members. To be honest with you, the training at The SFM is more than most advanced college courses would ever offer! Every single training resource is included with your membership. This is really awesome!
7. Amazing Tools and Services.
What many people are paying extra for comes included in your The SFM membership.
Here`s where I saved a ton of money with tools and services included such as website hosting, website builder, graphics creator, ebook cover creator, viral report builder, simple tracking and split testing software, it goes on and on. With communities online you have access where and when you want.
The SFM will continue to exceed your expectations. I have never been associated with a company that is more giving. I mean, when the guys behind The Six Figure Mentors create a new tool or service they give it to members at no additional cost.
8. You have absolutely nothing to lose.
Having nothing to lose is probably the biggest reason to join The SFM. You literally have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Why? Stu and Jay offer a 30-day money back guarantee. The chances that you won`t love this course are slim (there`s a 3% refund rate), but even if you don`t – just send support an email and they`ll give you all your money back, no questions asked.

Stress can be good and bad. It is how you deal with it. When I worked for the government in a compliance role stress was an everyday occurrence. There wasn’t much help to deal with it and frankly, a lot of the people I worked with on reflection exhibited signs of stress! It took me years to develop my own strategies for dealing with it! Stress can manifest itself into health problems that can become long-term issues. A way of dealing with it that I have found useful are:
Exercise particularly yoga
Meditation A clearing of the headspace
Collaboration and Networking Sharing the pain points and celebrating the wins
Learning about the warning signs and using counter strategies
Develop a daily routine that allows the time for counter stress activities
My secret is striving for the balance of mind body and soul, be present in the moment and make sure the activities that I choose to undertake can have joy and happiness as an objective.
Everyone has there the moment. That moment when everything clicks. You feel the warmth of emotion rise thru the body and have a handle on that warmth. You feel good and the energy is powerful. Congratulations you are in touch with your higher power. You are present. You could cherish the moment. Remember what set it off. This is your happy place where it all makes sense. A smile has come across your face. You are at peace. All your kindness compassion and generosity are there! How did you get there again? You were in touch with your higher power. Your love and that is your soul! Your mind body and soul are working in unison for once. No one did this too you, you did it all by yourself!
Fostering energy from emotions is nothing new, it gives you the energy to carry on thru the day. Setting aside that time for that happy place is important. That here and now moment when the mind is not racing and your body is still. When you feel the stress build and the world is getting out of control, just remember you can get in touch with your soul at any time!
Quite a few years ago I went thru a rough patch of trying to understand an ex-partner and her drinking and narcotics use. To me, I did not let it rule my life and tried as I could to show another way. In the end, we parted, however, I still carried feelings of resentment and fear. I did not want to turn to anger and the situation annoyed me. I sought help and joined a group of like-minded individuals and rather than bitched and moaned we made our way thru a program that we mutually supported each other. One of the affirmations that were used was let go and let god. God could be interchanged with whatever your higher power was. I loved that saying, however, I never really fully realized that God is love and love is the god. So nowadays Love is the key to me. It is the all-encompassing feeling of warmth the dwells up thru the body from the gut and envelopes that warm perfect feeling. You know the thing, there are many examples. I am mature enough to know this does not come from someone else it has to begin with me. That peace does begin with me! I started to use love to experience it and it opened up serenity like a butterfly opening its wings!
What it boils down to is mastering the mindset and becoming more mindful of the present.
We are all on a journey. The secret of life is a gratitude attitude where the warmth of feelings induces joy and happiness. Generosity, compassion, and kindness firstly to yourself and then others is the forefront of our life’s quest! To uplift rather than tear down, to build rather than demolish, to inspire rather than demotivate, are all desires, desires that are our life’s mission. We will have dark periods however we must nurture the light periods with the chapters as our lives unfold. We collaborate with people to make our journey better than we could on our own. Our mindset is positive, the attitude we have to it is how can we do this, the enquiring mind of we can do this! Smile and the whole world smiles with you! Life’s journey is so much better with love radiating from us for all to see! All of us can make that instant switch as its all a matter of perspective it’s not a matter of what you have, but your attitude that prevails! Be at peace with where you are. You are here now in the present. What has happened in the past is the past. What will happen in the future will be determined by you here now, living life to the fullest from a position of love!
In the end, there is only one season. The season you make! The season that has love at its foundation!
I am in business, I race myself with my mind, working, dreaming and scheming to get my next dollar. Reflection in my daily life needs a point consolidation. My daily routine allows time for firstly being in gratitude for what I have, thankfulness to the support and compassion for the things around me. When it boils down to it these are all qualities of love. That self-love. That Emotion. That feeling that has to be cultivated on the journey to bring it alive. It, not just passion that carries you thru but that encompassing feeling that I am in touch with that love. I use meditative techniques with breathing to get to that point. Other techniques work such as contemplation of the beauty of nature by walking. Whatever technique you use getting back in touch with your love is important to reinforce your higher power on the journey.
I have noticed my productivity has gone up by incorporation of those activities into my life as a result of that sense of wellbeing being created! We cover other parts of the daily routine on our blogs, You can follow all our blogs here.
Quality Assurance is defined as the maintenance of a desired level of quality in a service or product, especially by means of attention to every stage of the process of delivery or production.
The Japanese have a term “Kaizen”, also known as continuous improvement, is a long-term approach to work that systematically seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.
In my own business, I review my work and say to myself how can I make an improvement. I strive to look at the way it is done and the output to the client. I ask for feedback and incorporate it into the service.
I carry this over to my own life. I try and improve what I am doing.
While the changes I make might not seem like much, incrementally the add up to large changes. Here is an example! I plan, then do, check what I have done and then act to make the change. This is continuous! When I check I look at the problems, display where it is happening, be clear about what the problem is and acknowledge the problem.
An element of humility is required to not state I am wrong but to acknowledge that I need to make the change!
I came across two interesting businesses that are new for the 21st century
The personal concierge
A personal concierge service runs on the most basic of premises. People want things done but don’t have the time to do them. This works extremely well with tourism. Picture yourself in a strange town knowing no one and this service is on offer! Concierges are finding their services are needed more than ever. People are more and more comfortable with the concept of passing along their errands to personal concierges.
Services to Offer
With the industry growing and developing the way it is, it’s impossible to give a complete list of services personal concierges provide. Who knows what new service might be offered next week? But this list of some of the services personal concierges can offer might help you come up with a few ideas for services you can provide to your clients:
Pet-sitting
Light housekeeping
Car repairs, oil change, car wash
Event planning
Gift-buying
Plant care
Running miscellaneous errands
Relocation services
Making travel arrangements
Meal pickup; some chef services
Dinner reservations
Interior decorating
Landscaping
Maid service
Carpet cleaning
Concert/movie reservations, etc.
Grocery shopping
Locating hard-to-find items and collectibles
Personal Walker
These people charge by the kilometer and walk with the client giving them information about the walk, listening and chatting. There are many reasons why someone would want this service as we all know that walking alone is ok sometimes but generally works better with someone. This also leans its self towards tourism as well.
So it is interesting what the 21st century has to offer! One clear fact remains, in order to do this business communication and business skills are required! We could help!
The eprofessional is someone who telecommutes using information and communication technologies. It is also known as a telecommuter! Collaboration with the small business owners is normal. The flexibility to outsource problems and in turn accept work within their practice allows the person maximize their output. In order to work there needs to be inherent flexibility and a willingness to be cooperative.
The tools of collaboration are:
Video conferencing such as zoom
Application sharing such as office 365 suite
Document management and storage such as Dropbox and Adobe services
Blogging and social media pages which ideas can be exchanged
The Eprofessional
Inherent skills used by the business are mandatory when it comes to the above. The communicative skills required allow the sharing of information.
In my own main business, I have a backbone cloud shared accounting with MYOB essentials. This allows me to share reports and data with the client in real time. I am more a collaborator in their business now more than ever. It seems also that cloud-based message systems are being used more and more by clients as real-time is where the clients want results. Being familiar with the systems allows me to operate with ease!
How long will it be before your business will require these skills! Click to start learning!
The internet is full of video of content where people are freely giving you ideas to assist you in your business. Some of the ideas are good, some not so good! In my search for collaborative partners, I looked far and wide! If I was going to take my business to the next level and effectively transport myself into the cyber array, I clearly needed help! I wanted information that was here and now, not something handed down three years ago by some academic when they were learning about business. I had to collaborate with people who were actually doing! I studied not only how they were doing it but also their motivation! The reason for this is that to achieve what I had to do I had to put in some hard work that was going to create some serious stress! I also had to maintain work-life balance! So I started my collaborative journey here! The more I collaborated the more I saw my life needs to change. I started to look at mind body and soul balance and let the stress melt away with meditation and yoga. I started to understand what I was doing and that in itself brought a smile to my face!
You whether have that X-factor or you need to develop it.
I watched a person with that x-factor today and I felt warm inside, the hairs grabbed the back of the net and a smile was brought to my face! What was that x-factor that I saw? As a word picture, I saw love and experienced it. How did this person do it? I think I know their secret! Want to know it? They are in perfect balance of mind body and soul. I would hasten to think that if I studied their aura it would be pure white! They emanate from perfection! They ensure that they have the right mix and are in touch with themselves! The person is always working on their mind body and soul! This was not always the case. They got there by hard work and self-sacrifice and are still doing this. They give themselves to there practice and forgo a lot to give back! These are important lessons in life!
The key to there sense of presence was the knowledge that there totally coherent with what they were talking about! They had researched there topic and knew what they were talking about. Given there a sense of being they came across as friendly and forthcoming acknowledging all those present while staying on track with the message.
So, in summary, the key was knowing the subject knowledge and belief/faith in what they were talking about!
The US-led war on terror is now in the next stage of impacting on my business!!! First, it was FACTA. The next sledgehammer to crack a walnut. Reporting suspicious transactions to the NZ Police.
In the ordinary course of affairs, I frequently commence companies for clients to trade their business.
I do not have a trust account so that at least makes my compliance better. I understand I will be the compliance officer and responsible for compliance as well as my systems being subject to audit.
I firstly need to be CDD and EDD aware! Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced customer due diligence
Who is targeted by EDD?
• A trust or another vehicle for holding personal assets
• A non-resident customer from a country that has insufficient AML/CFT systems or measures in place
• A company with nominee shareholders or shares in bearer form,
• A politically exposed person (PEP)
• Customers seeking to conduct a complex, unusually large transaction or unusual pattern of transactions that have no apparent or visible economic or lawful purpose
• Any other customer that you assess (based on your risk assessment and standard CDD) to be of high ML/TF risk,
• Customers seeking to use new and developing technologies or products that might favor anonymity
I am lucky as I do not start trusts and am not a trustee, however as with the past, I need to be acutely aware of the source of funds (as in the past) and customer identity!
I need a list of shady countries as things may not be as they seem.
I always have real shareholders so that’s not too bad.
I will avoid all politicians like the plaque! Anyway who trusts politicians!
I will avoid anyone who is being complexed… been there done that, got rid of 4 clients like that!
Anyone who wants to be anonymous will have to have a bloody good reason! In addition, if I notice things suddenly change in vanilla clients I must be EDD at all time!
I have to do a manual too… hopefully, my peer group will develop one! In addition, I will need an auditor of the manual and me! I guess the costs of starting a new company will have to bear that cost! Pity the next person who wants to own a dairy who would benefit from being a company, instead of $345.00 to start the company being charged $3450.00 to cover the cost of the audit!
What it boils down to is knowing my customers. I don’t think that the authorities are trying to impede business!
So when I on board a client I will need: You may have to provide documents confirming your name, birthdate and address:
• passport; or
• drivers’ license and bank card;
and
• bank statement or power bill
If you represent a company or trust, you may have to provide extra information like:
• evidence of who you’re acting for (that is, the beneficial owners who effectively control or benefit from the trust or company).
Simple as?
